GETTING AROUND

Both Huddersfield’s Train Station and the Bus Station are a short 5 minute walk from our property, making travel extremely easy. The town’s excellent transport network provides easy access to Leeds, Manchester, Sheffield, Bradford, Liverpool and Birmingham. The Leeds Bradford International airport is just 20 miles away connecting anyone to all UK and European destinations, and Manchester airport is only half an hour drive away. Huddersfield is also connected to the motorway via the M1 and the M62, which along with the excellent bus services the local area is easy to access and explore.

CULTURE

Huddersfield offers a unique multicultural living experience that gives students the opportunity to make friends from all corners of the world. The town’s diversity is celebrated each year at the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival; the largest of it’s kind in the UK. So whatever you hope to get out of student living, you’re sure to find it in Huddersfield.

The Lawrence Batley Theatre can be found a short walk away from our development and hosts many national shows all year around, as well as regularly hosting University events. There’s also the Odeon Cinema and numerous other places of interest, including Greenhead Park, which has been host to many famous faces including the likes of Mumford & Sons.

SHOPPING

Huddersfield is also full of little shopping gems. As well as numerous supermarkets all a stones throw away from Palace Studios, there a places such as Byram Arcade, offering boutique and independent shops, and Kingsgate Centre, which holds High Street classics such as Topshop and H & M. Fashion hubs Leeds and Manchester are also a short train journey away.

SPORT

The town is home to both Huddersfield Giants rugby league team and Huddersfield Town FC, who both call the John Smith’s stadium home. It’s a popular attraction for sports fans of all varieties, with a leisure complex attached to it that offers discounts for students. Due to its proximity to the local countryside, Huddersfield is also perfect for cycling jogging and walkers alike. Within one hour’s travelling distance you can also be at all the major football stadiums in the north e.g. Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, Everton etc.

NIGHT LIFE

Huddersfield University’s Student Union, located in the campuses brand new central hub building, host regular student night, events and bar crawls throughout the year. All the main bars and clubs are a short walk away from our facility, so you’ll never have to worry about getting a taxi home! Being located within a student town, most places offer great student discounts for both drinks and entry, and host events through the Student Union.

EATING OUT

Whether you’re after Moroccan, British, Mediterranean, Indian or Lebanese cuisine, you’ll find everything you’re looking and more in Huddersfield. Most cafes, restaurants and bistros offer great discounts for students, and notable places to look out for include: Botafogo serving up a variety of wonderful Brazilian dishes, Bar Maroc a student favourite with their famous £5 pizzas and Gringos, a dishing up a variety of Mexican delights. Every year summer there is also the Huddersfield Food & Drink Festival in St. George’s Square, which draws in visitors from all across the country.
